New Starters | MTG - Manx Technology Group

Manx Technology Group (MTG) is pleased to announce the continued expansion of its software team with a number of new hires. The MTG software teams are actively engaged on projects for customers located throughout the UK, Europe, Singapore and the US – which has served as the catalyst for recent growth. MTG delivers software and data solutions across several markets, but experienced particular demand in areas such as e-Gaming, virtual sports, financial services and IoT.

The ability to bridge technology domains and deliver complete solutions is what we strive to do.

Paul Drake

Paul Drake joins MTG Technical as a Technical Engineer. Paul is Microsoft, HP and CompTIA qualified. Paul spent several years as an engineer in the army, a job which took him around the globe. On leaving the army his passion for fixing things led him to re-train as a technical engineer.

“My most important accomplishment is my son Max (4 and a half). Each day he grows more like me, wanting to do all that I do – Poor lad!”

Outside of work Paul is involved with several organisations and charities including sitting on the committee of the Royal British Legion (Douglas branch) and the charity Heroes on the Water (IOM). He is also County Youth Officer for the Isle of Man and plays rugby for Castletown Rugby Club.

Alex Bairstow

Alex joins MTG Software as a Software Developer. Alex has a BSc(hons) in Computer Science and is now working on a variety of software projects, including updating the systems that integrate with our software.

“My work is extremely satisfying, there is an endless amount to learn, which MTG facilitates in the variety of work I’m asked to undertake enabling me to further develop my skills. I’m constantly inspired by new innovations in the IT industry and, given the speed of these changes, I’m excited to see where we will be in the next decade”

When not at work, Alex builds and flies FPV racing drones capable of 80+ mph.

Jonathan Cowley

Jonathan Cowley has joined the MTG Software team as a 3D Animator. Jonathan has a Diploma in Multi Media and a BA inFilm and Visual FX.

“I’m delighted to have got this position with MTG, in such a competitive field. My inspirations are architecture and gaming but I love creating – I’m not smart enough to be a lawyer or burley enough to be a builder! “

Jonathan is especially interested in architecture of the Middle Ages, High Gothic or Lovecraftian influence, and in his spare time he enjoys gaming and creative writing.
